Statistics published by the BBC today suggest that one in six 16-24 yr olds are currently unemployed. That's almost one million unemployed young people in the UK.

Rock at the Castle: An outstanding success!

Rock at the Castle took place yesterday in Hertford Castle with hundreds of local residents turning up for the event. The English summer did not spoil the day either, the weather was unusually pleasant!

Well I didn't manage to make it on to the Town Council for Castle ward but excellent news for Independent candidates in Hertford as Angela Emsley managed to gain a seat for Sele ward.

By now you will hopefully have heard the news that Angela Emsley has been elected to Hertford Town Council as a Councillor for Sele ward following Tuesday's exciting by-election.  This is a worthy and deserved victory and here at EHP we are so pleased with the results. 

Choice is good, use it wisely!

The list of candidates has been published for the Norwich North by-election on 23rd July (only two days after Hertford's very own by-election for the Town Council on the 21st).  A staggering 12 nominations make up the list, this includes 3 Independent candidates.  It is so encouragin

Retail Week recently reported that Hertford Town Centre has become the tenth most affected town centre by the recession in the UK.
