No matter what you think about politics, please "USE YOUR VOTE"!

Submitted on Wed, 03/06/2009 - 11:19am

So, tomorrow's the day; the day when we find out exactly how receptive Hertford is to the idea of Independents.  The leaflets have been delivered, the foot work has been done and all that's left now is the fun and excitement of persuading people to vote tomorrow.  Look out for Jim Thornton's team around the town trying to persuade the last few electors to cast their vote.

More than anything we want to see a higher voter turn out and more participation.  Politicians have not had an easy ride over recent months and there is an inclination to not vote at all following all the current scandals.  However, now is the time more than ever to cast your vote, to have your say about your local representatives and to make your voice heard. It is so important to use the vote that has been given to you.

It may seem like a pointless local election, an inconvenience, but popping to your nearest polling station will take no time at all.  It is important that your local representatives are elected by as many people as possible and truly reflect the electorate's votes.

Particularly in Hertford St Andrews, this election has the potential to really shake up the system.  Polling stations open at 7am and close at 10pm and East Herts People are urging everyone to USE YOUR VOTE!
