"Independents in East Herts" Avaliable to Buy from Amazon and Books@Hoddesdon

Jim Thornton, founder of East Herts People and Executive member of the Independent Network, published an informative book on electioneering and local government last February entitled 'Independents for East Herts'.

The book priced at 6.99 RRP is now available to buy at http://www.booksat.com/ and on Amazon UK.

'Independents for East Herts' contains Jim Thornton's account of his experiences as a Conservative Councillor on East Herts District Councillor for eight years and standing as an independent in subsequent elections.

It also provides comprehensive advice on standing for election including information on electoral legislation, finances, volunteers, canvassing, stunts and nominations.

Jim Thornton says, 'There are over 2000 independent Councillors in England and Wales. I wrote this book to encourage others to get involved with their community and join this growing movement of independent politicians.'

The book has received endorsement by Cllr Keith Ross OBE, Independent Leader of West Somerset District Council. He says 'Simply put, in energising but manageable chapters, "Independents for East Herts" is a highly readable and honest book on working as an Independent politician in local government.'

Jim Thornton welcomes feedback on the book and any suggestions for future literature. You can get in contact with him by sending an email to info@ehpeople.org
